Privacy Policy

Summary
mindwtr is designed so your journal stays on your device. The desktop app does not require an account and does not sync your notes by default. This policy explains what the marketing website may collect and what the app is built to avoid.
Desktop application
Notes, profiles, and related data are stored locally (SQLite on your machine). We do not operate a cloud store for your writing. If you export or back up files, those copies live wherever you place them.
Website
The mindwtr website may collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited when you browse — through hosting or analytics tools if they are enabled. We do not use the website to collect the contents of your journal.
Cookies
Essential cookies may be used for site operation. If analytics cookies are added later, this page will be updated to describe them and any choices you have.
Third parties
Hosting providers that serve this website may process request logs under their own terms. The desktop app's local-first design means your notes are not sent to those providers through normal writing use.
Your choices
You can stop using the website at any time. For the app, deleting local data or uninstalling removes the store on that device according to your operating system.
Updates
We may revise this policy as the product or website changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest update.
